Mid-Level Database Developer
(Winchester, VA)
Clutch, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Database Developer having practical real-world experience working with various complex table structures, SQL queries and stored procedures. All candidates must be fluent in SQL and should have extensive knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server database platforms and RDMS concepts. Demonstrated object oriented programming experience in Java, C++, or C# is required. Working alongside a technical lead, the successful candidate will be expected to perform SQL code maintenance & programming in Oracle, and Java code maintenance & programming. Good problem solving skills are a must.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of practical real-world SQL programming (including stored procedure programming) in Oracle or SQL Server
- Minimum 3+ years of practical real-world object oriented programming experience in Java, C#, or C++
- Expert computer skills on a Windows or Linux platform
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Must have good organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to pass a government background investigation
- Specific experience working with Oracle databases and Java programming is a plus

Web Designer
(Winchester, VA)
Clutch, Inc. is seeking a creative user interface specialist who possesses a great eye for user-centered design in addition to having strong hands-on development skills. The ideal candidate should be fluent in all things web-design, including mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML/CSS, development frameworks and cross-browser compatibility best practices.
Working alongside an application developer and a project manager, you will design information architecture schemas that support user-based tasks. You rapidly prototype wireframes and mockups, identify and solve usability challenges, and translate those ideas into complete, standards-compliant HTML/CSS pages for implementation.
Requirements
- Must have a good understanding of type, color and space, and can design exceptionally well for the web
- Understanding that web design is beyond just making things look pretty and translating a brand into the online space. You care as much about the visual aesthetics as you do about usability. Always making design decisions with the user in mind by continuously viewing projects from a user’s vantage point and producing to their needs.
- Taking pride in doing great work, and caring about the details (delivering pixel-perfect work)
- Ability to cut up a Photoshop comp and turn it into something “live” with good, clean, standard-compliant XHTML and CSS
- Hard-working and dedicated to meeting all commitments to the team, even if this requires extra time. Example: Underestimating work needed to hit a team milestone, but putting in the extra effort to get there on schedule
- Minimum 3+ years of web design experience
- Expert computer skills (Mac and PC)
- Good communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Must be flexible and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Must have good organization skills and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background investigation
Bonus
- Experience working inside development technologies (Java, PHP, ASP.NET, or Cold Fusion)
- Custom design implementation with popular Blog/CMS frameworks (WordPress, Joomla, etc)
- Experience using version control systems (Subversion, etc) individually or in a team setting
This position is for on-site, full-time work in Winchester, VA. Telecommuting is not an option. This is a 3-month minimum contract with potential for longer engagement.
Note: A portfolio demonstrating a strong visual and conceptual design sense and a superior understanding of current coding practices, typography, color, and layout–screenshots and/or URLs will be required.
